Fees and Payments

Free Initial Phone Consultation

Please do not hesitate to call me before we get started officially.  Prior to our first face to face appointment, I offer a 15 minute phone consultation at no charge.  This initial contact will allow us to meet on the phone to assure there is a good match and provides you an opportunity to get an initial sense of me and my approach.  I make every effort to call back as soon as possible.  I look forward to talking to you real soon!


Payment may be made by cash, check, or major credit cards including Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express (note: paypal adds a fee in addition to the fee listed below for all credit card charges). Please pay all fees directly to me at the beginning of each session:

$170 per 50 minute individual session

$170 per 50 minute couples session


I strongly believe that treatment for private emotional difficulties should be a confidential and private process.  Please be aware that insurance companies require you to be diagnosed with a mental disorder and the information may go to a national database.  Also detailed clinical information is frequently requested as a condition of you receiving payment.  For these reasons, I do not participate in any HMO or PPO provider panels, but many PPO (and some HMO) members have benefits through a “point of service” (out-of-network) option. In this case I can give you a statement of services rendered.  You should call the insurance company in advance to see what information they need for out of network providers and how much they will cover.

Credit Cards

You may use the credit card payment buttons or PayPal portal on my website to pay for sessions. If you decide to do that, I request that you pay for the session a minimum of three hours before attending or that we make some arrangement for me to have the credit information on file.  I may also be able to take credit cards at the office. PLEASE NOTE THAT PAYPAL CHARGES A 3% PROCESSING FEE TO TO ALL CREDIT CARD PURCHASES.

Cancellation Policy

Since your therapy involves specifically reserving my time; I need a minimum of 48 hours notice if you need to cancel for any reason. If due to illness, transportation problems, etc, you cannot come in, a phone session will be offered to you if you give at least 2 hours notice.  You will be charged your full fee for any missed appointment without 48-hour notice of cancellation.

Please note that credit card payments made through PayPal will include a 3% processing fee.  This fee is already added into the amount shown below. The online payment process is simplified if you already have or create a free PayPal account, however, a PayPal account is not necessary to make a payment. To make a payment without a PayPal account simply fill out the credit card information below the “Don’t have a PayPal account?” section.
