Professional Associations and Qualifications
Clinical Psychologists are true Doctors of the Mind who treat mental/emotional concerns, just like a Physician is a Doctor of the Body and treats physical ailments. A licensed Psychologist with a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology has more training in Therapy and psychological processes than any other profession! It takes about 12 years to get a Doctorate in Psychology. In contrast a Masters Degree takes about 7 or 8 years. Most Marriage Family Therapists (MFT) and licensed Social Workers (LCSW) have master’s degrees. I am licensed to practice as a Psychologist and have both a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology as well as a Masters Degree in Psychology.
I earned a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the Pacific Graduate School of Psychology, fully Accredited by the American Psychological Association. Pacific Graduate School of Psychology currently has a joint Doctor of Clinical Psychology program with the world renowned Stanford University. My credentials have been checked and verified by the National Register of Health Care Providers in Psychology. I also go through a bi-annual re-credentialing at the Hospital where I have Staff Privileges (Kaiser Permanente).
My membership in the following local and national associations is an assurance that you are dealing with a thoroughly qualified practitioner:
The American Psychological Association
The California Psychological Association
The Redwood Psychological Association in Sonoma County California
National Healthcare Providers in Psychology (registrant)
